WHAT’S NEW

2011 Day of Action – October 22

What is the Day of Action?

The Day of Action is one day where Pennsylvanians will work hard to Get Out the Vote. We will knock on doors and make phone calls statewide to remind our neighbors of the importance of voting in the crucial elections coming up on November 8th.

On Saturday, October 22nd, join fellow Democrats across the Commonwealth to turn out votes for your local Democratic candidates and our statewide judicial candidates, Kathryn Boockvar and David Wecht.

While fewer people remember these municipal elections, the people elected have a major impact on your everyday life, and because of the lower turnout, every single vote counts.

Republicans are relying on us and our neighbors to forget about these local elections that so often have low turnout. Our best way to fight back against extreme Republican policies that hurt the middle class is to make sure Democrats vote.

DCDC Fall Event

On Monday, October 17th the Dauphin County Democratic Committe held its Fall Event. Our meeting was hosted at the AFSCME Conference Center. It was well attended and guest Speaker Tim Holden endorsed the entire Democratic Ticket. He urged voters to vote the straight Democratic Ticket! Chairman Marilyn Levin also rallied the room with very pointed remarks:

“We have Republicans who have been in office so long they very comfortably pass the offices down from father to son or mother in law to daughter in law. Not only do they practice political privilege, they do so with an attitude of arrogance and constantly counting the democratic voter out by labeling us irrelevant and inconsequential.

We asked for a debate – they had the audacity to refuse. In republican eyes we don’t even merit the time and energy to talk about the issues. They don’t believe we matter. They don’t want to earn those offices; they are quite content with inheriting them!
but we have a rude awakening in store for the Republicans….”
– Marilyn Levin, Chairman
